Did Someone Say Staycation?

Vacation season is officially here and you're ready to get outside. Because of flight challenges and fuel prices, now more than ever people are opting to stay at or close to home. If you're considering a "staycation" as an option, we think that's a great idea! Here are ideas on to choose your destination and tips on how to enjoy it!

First things first.

Do I want a relaxing or experience driven staycation?

Who do I want to enjoy the staycation with?

Once you make those two decisions, you're ready to get planning!

Day 1: Decompress. Whether you choose the relaxing or experience staycation we recommend you spend your first day at a highly rated day spa enjoying all the joys of wellbeing: nature, pool and spa, mud treatments, massages, meditation yoga, painting and farm to table eats are all at your finger tips. Revel in relaxation and to fully enjoy the experience, plan to spend the entire day. Afterwards, head to a comfy family restaurant or wine bar and indulge in a delicious dinner. Relaxed yet? Good, head home. Tomorrow's a big day.

Day 2: Excursion Day! Catalina Island for zip lining, biking and snorkeling? Or maybe golfing with ocean views in Orange County. If that doesn’t suit your taste, there are a number of historic landmarks and museums with phenomenal exhibits.

Day 3: Time to be "Scene." Today you’re checking into a hotel. Not just any hotel, one with a lively pool and scenic views. Sip glorious mimosas, champagne or mojitos today. Yes, we said glorious! Poolside lunch, a DJ and a spirited mix of sexy locals and visitors. Tonight you have tickets to either a local concert or sports game! This is your last night so kill it!

Day 4: Let's Roll. Needless to say, we all enjoy a getaway and we love reality as well. So when you’re ready – roll out of bed, grab breakfast and chat about all the fun over the last few days. Head back home and I guess…get caught up on TikTok!

Tips:

Commit to digital detox and turn off social media. It's ok to take pictures and videos; you'll want to share the experience later.

Have your home professionally cleaned before your staycation so you're not sidetracked with chores.

Leave yourself a half day at the end of the "experience" trip to decompress.
